Do you have a chiropractic website?
Is there a link on your homepage (or your entire site) linking back to the designer, publisher, or template creator of your website?
Companies and designers that create, publish, and host websites will be the first to argue this, but LINKING BACK TO THE COMPANY THAT CREATED YOUR WEBSITE MAY BE AFFECTING YOUR POSITION IN SEARCH ENGINES.
Some will say I am crazy, let them. I will post some examples of what I am talking about here.
My recommendation is to remove all links from your chiropractic homepage that go back to the designer or company that created your website.
Some companies will require you to maintain a link back to their website from your homepage. Why is that? Google and other search engines love inbound links and what easier way to get inbound links than to code them right onto the homepage of YOUR website (and all their other clients as well).
When you hear people talk about links they are talking about INBOUND LINKS, or links that are coming to you. Why should you be linking OUT to people that you PAID (and may even pay monthly) to promote their business in the search engines?
Curious? Check the pagerank on your chiropractic homepage using one of the links below (opens in a new browser window).

Now, check the pagerank on the website you are linking to from your homepage. Is it higher than yours? If it is I am not surprised. I have rarely found an inbound page that ranks lower than the page linking to it. There are other factors involved (such as domain age) but you will do yourself a favor by asking to have that link removed.
It’s funny that some PAY monthly fees for inbound links to their websites. There are even websites that will put you in contact with others that you can pay to link to you. That is because INBOUND LINKS are highly regarded by search engines.
Now, if the company that hosts or created your website wants to pay you (say $50 per month) for a relative inbound link, maybe you’ll want to do that. I’d still say it is simply easier to ask to have all links from your homepage or chiropractic website to theirs removed.
Kudos to those web designers and hosts that do it right. What THEY do is create a page or directory on their websites and provide outbound links so potential clients can see the level of work they do. They do not place links back to them on their clients websites.
More on this topic later. Have a healthy day!
